💔 Ben’s Journey

• Childhood Struggles: Ben faced significant challenges, including the loss of his mother to Leukemia.
• Support System: Enrolled at Milton Hershey School for hope and stability.
• New Beginnings: Moved back to Newark to be with his father and excelled at Newark High School.
• Dreams: Despite challenges, he pursued education and football passionately.

🎓 Educational Achievements

• College Success: Played football at Wesley College and graduated with honors.
• Law School: Graduated from Widener Law School in May 2021 with honors.
• Work Ethic: Demonstrated determination while studying and working part-time.
• Career Goals: Eager to use his law degree to help families.

💍 Personal Life

• Engagement: Engaged to high school sweetheart, Shannon, with a wedding planned for October 7, 2023.
• Shared Values: Both were committed to helping others in their careers.
• Tragic Loss: Ben tragically lost his life in an accident eight weeks before the wedding.
• Community Impact: Loved by many, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and compassion.

🎉 Event Details

• Start & Finish: Beginning and ending at Newark High School, Ben's alma mater.
• Participation: Open to walkers and runners of all abilities.
• After Party: Join us at Deer Park Tavern at 10:30 AM for a post-race celebration.
• Fundraising: Raffles and donation opportunities available to support the Memorial Fund.

Teams can be formed for Newark High School Alumni, Milton Hershey School Alumni, Wesley Alumni, Delaware Law Alumni, ChristianaCare, Baird, Mandalas, and Brockstedt & Federico LLC. We welcome everyone from these organizations to participate and celebrate Ben's life. If you want to create a new team, feel free to do so when signing up for the race.
