🕊️ In Loving Memory

• Background: On November 25th, 2020, during his tour of duty, our Dearborn Police family lost our colleague Sgt. Christopher Hampton to suicide.
• Legacy: Chris was a wonderful human being, a caring friend, a loving son, brother and father, and an amazing Police Officer.
• Awareness: The event aims to raise awareness for those suffering from anxiety, depression, and mental health issues, especially first responders.
• Initiative: The Dearborn Police Officer’s Charity started this run/walk in memory of Chris in 2021.

🎬 Event Themes

• Inaugural Success: Our inaugural event in 2021 was a great success, thanks to community support.
• Themes: Each event features themes based on Chris' love for '80s movies, such as Robo Cop and Back to the Future.
• 2024 Theme: This year we’re excited to announce Ghostbusters as the theme for the 4th Annual Memorial 5K.
• Activities: Enjoy surprises and activities for all ages, with costumes welcomed and encouraged!

• Blue Cross Blue Shield: Returning as a sponsor, they aim to eliminate the stigma of mental illness.
• Mission: Blue Cross shares the mission to normalize the conversation around mental health.
• Special Guests: Former Detroit Lions Quarterback, Eric Hipple, will join us at the event.
• Advocacy: They work with specialists to advocate for mental health.

💪 Goals and Invitation

• Reach: To reach more people and add new participants.
• Connection: Bringing light and awareness to those struggling or who have lost someone.
• Fundraising: To raise funds for organizations like Call for Backup, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and Michigan Concerns of Police Survivors.
