As of January 1, 2020 the Cannon Memorial YMCA and YMCA of Rowan County merged into the Rowan-Cabarrus YMCA. This merger follows successful shared services between the organizations that had been ongoing since 2013. The Rowan-Cabarrus YMCA is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization that serves all of Cabarrus County and Rowan County.
A portion of your registration fee will assist the YMCA in providing programs and membership to those who could not afford to participate otherwise. The Rowan-Cabarrus YMCA depends on the financial contributions from individuals and corporations to continue improving the quality of life for children in our community. Every child deserves the chance to experience quality after school care, camp, sports, swimming and other skill and character-building activities. The Rotary Club of Southwest Cabarrus was the last rotary club founded in the 20th Century. Founded in December 1999, we are a continuously growing club of approximately 20 members. The motto of Rotary International, a service organization of over 1.2 million women and men worldwide, is โService Above Self.โ That is our purpose globally and locally.
The Southwest Cabarrus Rotary Club, which meets each Tuesday at 11:45am in Captain Steveโs restaurant in Harrisburg, is dedicated to serving needs such as Polio eradication, local youth development, global micro-loans, and supporting Alzheimerโs research among other causes. Our net proceeds raised from the Harrisburg 5K events will directly support these needs. For more information, please visit www.swcabarrusrotary.org.
