Memorial Event: Join us for an early morning annual Memorial Day weekend run or walk in memory of Scott Procopio who was killed in action 16 years ago in Ramadi, Iraq.
Distance Options: Run/Walk distance options include: 5K, 10K, 1 Mile Walk, and a Kids Fun Run.
Charitable Purpose: Each of the last 5 years this event has continued to raise more than $25K/year to be allocated to High School seniors furthering their education.

General Fees: $20 through 1/31, $25 through 3/31, $30 through 5/17, $35 Race Week through 5/23 at 8PM, $45 Race Day
Youth 15 & Under: $15 through 5/23, $20 on race day
1 Mile Walk Fees: $25 through 5/23 at 8PM, $35 on Race Day
Kids Fun Run: $15 through 5/23 at 8PM, $20 on Race Day (includes Event Shirt)

Available Distances: Choose from a 5K, 10K, or 1 Mile Walk.
Course Terrain: The 5K and 10K courses are a mix of flat and rollers with one good sized climb.
Fuel Stations: All distances start at the same time, intersect and split at different points, and all fuel stops will have water and electrolytes.
Accessibility: Strollers and dogs are welcome.

Distance: This 1/4 mile Kids Fun Run is targeted for those 10 and under starting at 7:45am.
T-Shirt Guarantee: Pre-registered kids will be guaranteed a t-shirt.
Course: Their run will circle the shutdown rotary and will finish under the High5EM finish archway on Taylor St.
Note: If your child is 10 & under and wishes to participate in the 5K or 10K and do the Kids Fun Run, please sign he/she up in the 5K/10K so they receive a race time.

Participation: Walkers will receive all the race accolades without having to run.

Race Bibs: Participants will receive custom designed race bibs and finisher medals.
T-Shirts: Shirts will be guaranteed to those pre-registered by 5/10.

Overall Awards: Top 3 M/F – Cash Prizes.
Age Group Awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd M/F in each age group: Under 15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
Other Awards: Top 3 Strollers, Top 3 Non-Binary.
Note: No double dipping.

Community Presence: There will be a variety of community sponsors and vendors setup in front of the Saugus Town Hall.
Food Vendors: Essex Landing will be on site providing hot dogs for all participants and other food/drink will be available.
Entertainment: Evolvement Radio will provide the entertainment all morning.
Parade Event: Stick around for the Saugus Memorial Day Parade to follow.

Post Race Reward: If you're heading right out of town, consider swinging by Sylvan Street Grille on the 24th to redeem a free beer or glass of wine with your race bib!

Biography: Scott was on his second deployment as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, having previously served in Fallujah in 2005. He was killed in action as a result of a roadside bomb on the morning of April 2, 2006 in Ramadi, Iraq.

Purpose: 100% of the event proceeds will be allocated to CPL Scott J. Procopio Memorial Scholarship program to provide high school seniors with academic scholarships.
