Location: Saugus Town Hall, Saugus MA (298 Central St)
Details: Join us for an early morning annual Memorial Day weekend run or walk in memory of Scott Procopio who was killed in action 16 years ago in Ramadi, Iraq. Run/Walk distance options include: 5K, 10K, 1 Mile Walk and a Kids Fun Run. Each of the last 5 years this event has continued to raise more than $25K/year to be allocated to High School seniors furthering their education.
💳 Race Fees
Standard Fee: $20 through 1/31, $25 through 3/31, $30 through 5/17, $35 Race Week through 5/23 at 8PM, $45 Race Day
Youth (15 & Under): $15 through 5/23, $20 on race day
1 Mile Walk Fee: $25 through 5/23 at 8PM, $35 on Race Day
Kids Fun Run Fee: $15 through 5/23 at 8PM, $20 on Race Day (Includes Event Shirt)
📦 Packet Pickup
Start Time: Opens at 6:45AM
Location: Saugus Center in front of the Town Hall
Note: Packet pickup is on race day ONLY.
🏁 Course Information
Options: Choose from a 5K, 10K or 1 Mile Walk.
Terrain: The 5K and 10K courses are a mix of flat and rollers with one good size climb.
Rules: All distances start at the same time, intersect and split at different points and all fuel stops will have water and electrolytes.
Accessibility: Strollers and dogs are welcome.
👦 Kids Fun Run
Distance: This 1/4 mile Kids Fun Run is targeted for those 10 and under.
Start Time: Starting at 7:45am.
T-Shirt: Pre-registered kids will be guaranteed a t-shirt.
Note: If your child is 10 & under and wishes to participate in the 5K or 10K and do the Kids Fun Run please sign he/she up in the 5K/10K so they receive a race time.

Community Sponsors: There will be a variety of community sponsors and vendors set up in front of the Saugus Town Hall.
Food: Essex Landing will be on site providing hot dogs for all participants and other food/drink will be available.
Entertainment: Evolvement Radio will provide the entertainment all morning.
Parade: Stick around for the Saugus Memorial Day Parade to follow.

Background: Scott was on his second deployment as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, having previously served in Fallujah in 2005.
Incident: He was killed in action as a result of a roadside bomb on the morning of April 2, 2006 in Ramadi, Iraq.
🎓 Beneficiary
Allocation: 100% of the event proceeds will be allocated to CPL Scott J. Procopio Memorial Scholarship program.
Purpose: To provide high school seniors with academic scholarships.
