🏃♂️ Event Overview
You're invited to join hundreds of runners and walkers in Belmont community to raise the voice and visibility of AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) residents. This event is organized by BCAA (Belmont Chinese American Association) and sponsored by local businesses.
📏 5K Race Route
- Route Details: The 5K route for both running and walking is the same as the Becca Pizzi 5K route developed by the Belmont Police Department, which starts and ends on the BHS track and goes through the Winn Brook neighborhood.
- Age Requirement: Children 10 years or under must be accompanied by an adult.
📏 2K Race Route
- Route Details: The 2K route for both running and walking is the same as the FBE Apple Run 2K route developed by the Belmont Police Department, which starts and ends on the BHS track and goes through the Claypit Pond near Belmont High School.
- Age Requirement: Children 10 years or under must be accompanied by an adult.
🗓️ Race Day Schedule
- 8:00am - 8:45am: 5K bib pickup & race day registration
- 8:45am - 10:00am: 2K bib pickup & race day registration
- 8:30am: Speeches and warm-up by Conor from StretchLab Metford
- 9:00am: AAPI 5K
- 10:15am: AAPI 2K
📦 Number Pick-Up
- Pre-race Packet Pickup: This year is on Saturday 2 - 5pm (May 4th) before the race close to Belmont High School entrance.
- Race Day Bib Pickup: Will take place at The Belmont High School Track from 8am to 10am.
🏆 Awards
- Top Finishers: Top 3 finishers Male and Female in 5K race.
- Age Group Awards: Fastest 5K per age group per gender (10 year increments, exclude top 3 overall).
- 2K Awards: Top 5 finishers Male and Female under 12 (including 12) in 2K race.
- Largest Team: In both 5K and 2K races.
👕 T-Shirt
The first 300 registered runners/walkers will be offered a superlight 'quick-dri' running shirt. New design, better for your exercises!
💰 Registration Fee
- 5K: $30 through May 4th, 2024, Day-of registration will be $40.
- 2K: $20 through May 4th, 2024, Day-of registration will be $30.
🅿️ Parking
The Belmont High School (BHS) Track is located on 291 Concord Avenue, adjacent to BHS, which can be easily reached by car and public transportation. Attention: NO PARKING in BHS Lot. There is ample parking available in surrounding area on the race day and in Claflin St. parking lot.
🚻 Porta Johns
Multiple Porta Johns are available right outside of the BHS track.
🍉 Post Race
Water, fruit and snacks will be provided FREE to all runners after crossing the finish line. One ice cream will be offered to each kid runner under 18. Please provide your bib to volunteers when picking up your cold sweet reward. :)
StretchLab Medford will offer FREE 15-minute demo assisted stretch sessions for interested individuals until 11am.
🤝 Volunteering
Sign up to volunteer for the race. Volunteers will receive a FREE race T-shirt. Community Service hours are awarded to student volunteers.
