🏆 Event Overview
Come and join us for this Inaugural Father's Day weekend event on Saturday June 14th, 2025 in the Oakleaf area of Jacksonville located at the Oakleaf Community Park at 3979 Plantation Oaks Blvd for a 10k competitive run and 4k race (where the participants have to eat a cup of popcorn) at the start and 1/2 way point.
🌳 Race Course
- Distance: 10k competitive run and 4k race
- Terrain: Hybrid terrain of asphalt, compact sand, grass, and a short distance on a pine straw covered trail
- Loop: The course features a 1.2 mile flat and fast loop course
- Shaded: 75% shaded by trees to keep you cool
🏅 Awards & Giveaways
- Host: Sombrero Running Events, known for quirky race day awards
- Medals: Custom medals for everyone and awesome race shirts
- Age Groups: Awards based on registered runners: at least 5 in each age group for age group awards
- Overall Awards: Top 3 overall in male/female divisions and master's awards for each race
🎟️ Special Drawings
We will also giveaway at least 2 Jacksonville Sharks Arena Football tickets valued at $75 for the following weekend at Vystar Arena in downtown Jax. These seats are in the club section and at the 5 yard line and are aisle seats. These seats are available to a lucky dad that we will randomly choose on race day!
💖 Community Impact
A portion of the proceeds will go back to Clay County Parks and Recreation to put up signs for this trail and to signify areas of significant plants/species along the trail.
