Donkey Dash 5K & Fun Run

🏃‍♂️ Get Off Your Donkey and Dash

• Purpose: All proceeds and donations will help to support the missions of the DUH!SCIPLES youth ministry and Epworth UMC.

👫 About DUH!SCIPLES Youth Ministry

• Community: The DUH!SCIPLES youth ministry of Epworth UMC in Concord are a tight-knit community of students who are learning what it means to follow Jesus and how to do life together.
• Mission: The DUH!SCIPLES have adopted the battle cry of "Do Good Stuff" as they find ways to put themselves out there for their neighbors.
• Focus: Students learn about servant leadership which gives them the confidence and compassion to live out their faith.

🌄 Summer Service Opportunities

• Asheville Trip: The DUH!SCIPLES will be spending a week in Asheville, partnering with Cross Connection and the Haywood St. congregation.
• Service: Students will have the opportunity to serve those who are without homes or marginalized in the community.
• Relationships: The experience aims to break down stereotypes and barriers to develop genuine relationships.

🏕️ Backyard Mission Camp

• Engagement: The DUH!SCIPLES will tackle another year of Backyard Mission Camp, allowing them to "Do Good Stuff" right in their own backyard.
• Learning: Students engage in service, learn about local resources, and gain tools to create a generation of compassionate servants.
• Explore: Check out the Backyard Mission Camp website to learn more about all the good stuff.

😄 Join the Fun

• Community Spirit: At their core, the DUH!SCIPLES are a big group of goofballs who enjoy being silly and having fun.
• Costumes: Whether you are a race participant or cheering in support, feel free to wear your best costume or goofy outfit: inflatable costumes are always welcome!

⏰ Race Information

• Fun Run: 1 mile Fun Run starts at 8:30am.
• 5K Start: 5K will begin at 9:00am. Race will be rain or shine.
• Awards: Awards will be given for the top 3 finishers in each group (adults, students, and fun run participants).
• Registration: Registration includes a participation medal, t-shirt, and post-race refreshments. Register by April 19th to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

📦 Race Packet Pick-Up

• Location: Starting at 8:00am on race day at the Dogwood Shelter.
