🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The Co-op Feed Your Neighbor 5K is a family-friendly event supporting the Good Samaritan House of Carbondale. The race will be held Friday, April 11, 2025.

📍 Course Details

Our 5K course is professionally certified: the course begins and ends at Turley Park on Old West Main and Glenview, Carbondale, IL. The route runs through the residential area behind the Murdale Shopping Center.

• Location: Turley Park, Old West Main and Glenview, Carbondale
• Course: Certified and professionally timed
• Options: Participants can run or walk

💲 Registration Fees

• Adults: Only $20
• Children: $10 for ages 14 and under
• Day of Registration: $25 for adults and $15 for children
• Time: Registration opens at 4:30 pm: Race starts at 6 pm

🎶 Event Fun

• Live Music: Enjoy performances at the event
• Family Friendly: Open to participants of all ages
• Prizes: Awards for top female and male runners
• Refreshments: Snacks and drinks for participants

🥖 Prizes and Awards

• Overall Winners: Top female and male receive a $100 Co-op gift card
• Age Categories: Winners get a loaf of bread
• Door Prizes: Every participant entered for a chance to win

🤝 Community Support

Additionally, we are asking participants to bring nonperishable food to give to the local food pantry. Good Samaritan House of Carbondale serves a wide variety of people, including persons with mental and physical disabilities, families evicted from their homes, veterans with nowhere to go, and persons who have lost their jobs.

🌟 About Good Samaritan House

All proceeds will support Good Samaritan House of Carbondale, which provides a food pantry, soup kitchen, emergency shelter, transitional housing, and emergency assistance to the area’s most vulnerable citizens.

• Emergency Shelter: Offers shelter and transportation services
• Food Pantry: Provides food and commodities
• Soup Kitchen: Balanced meals served three times a day
• Transitional Home: Helps individuals transition to independent living
