Join Filling in the Blanks on April 6, 2025, at the Seventh Annual Unite to Fight 5K. The race will take place at Waveny Park located in New Canaan, CT.

🍽️ Understanding Childhood Hunger

• Statistic: In Fairfield County, more than 33,000 children are not sure where their next meal will come from.
• Weekday Meals: Most children receive breakfast and lunch from school every weekday.
• Weekend Gaps: Many go from Friday lunch until Monday breakfast without a decent meal.
• Organization: Founded in 2013, Filling in the Blanks works to fill in these weekend gaps by providing essential food.

🏆 Impact of Filling in the Blanks

• Academic Achievement: Removing the obstacle of food insecurity can increase academic performance in school.
• Community Service: FITB continuously serves over 9,200 kids at over 200 sites throughout Fairfield, Westchester, and Putnam counties.
• In-School Pantries: FITB has established four in-school pantries for easier access.
• Mobile Pantry: In 2023, FITB launched the Fresh Food On The Move mobile pantry for fresh produce and health services.

• Availability: T-shirts are based on availability if registering after March 21, 2025.
