Run For The Rock

Join the Black Rock neighborhood residents as we celebrate 381 years at our annual Run for the Rock 5k! We are back and better than ever. Get ready to enjoy our wonderful neighborhood! We love our traditional Black Rock Day weekend and are very happy to be able to host it again.

📅 Important Event Information

• Registration Limit: Our registration limit for this event will be 450 participants. LAST YEAR WE SOLD OUT AND COULD NOT ALLOW ANY RACE WEEKEND REGISTRATIONS - so DON’T DELAY- REGISTER NOW!
• Race Day Registration: If we are sold out there WILL NOT BE ANY RACE DAY REGISTRATION. If not sold out we accept online registrations only (no cash payments on day of) up to 5 minutes prior to the start.
• Entry Fee Includes: Your entry fee does include the coveted BLACK ROCK Shirt and they will be available the days before the race and event morning for pickup. There is no delivery if you miss the race so please have someone pick it up for you.
• Social Media: Please post photos of yourself during this run/walk on social media with the following hashtags: #runfortherock and #blackrock. Don't forget to tag us in your posts on Twitter and Facebook with the hashtags too!

💵 Event Fees

• $35: 19 yrs old & over - Online cc fee paid by the race!
• $25: 18 yrs old & under - Online cc fee paid by the race! Fees increase June 2nd to $40/$30
• Free Kids Fun Run: 1/10 mile from the 3 mile point to the finish. 8 Yrs & under only please.

• Feb 5: Registration opens
• May 26: T-shirt size guarantee ends, then- as available
• June 2: Event Fee increase to $40 for 19 & over, $30 for 18 & under

🏅 Awards and Prizes

• Gift Cards: Overall M & F & NB champions receive special gift card prizes from MARATHON SPORTS in Fairfield.
• Medals: 2nd & 3rd M & F age groups receive medals.
• Must Be Present: You must be present for your award or have someone take it for you- they will not be mailed.

• Course Highlights: Great water views, 90% flat (OK, there is one hill), quiet roads.
• Hydration: At Least one WATER TABLE ON COURSE but BE PREPARED- hydrate before & carry your own fluids if needed.

🚨 Important Race Information

• Bib Chip Timing: We use a BIB chip-timed system. The bib must be pinned on the front area of your clothing- NOT on the BACK.
• Swap Bibs: PLEASE DO NOT GIVE, TAKE NOR EXCHANGE A BIB WITH ANYONE. It WILL affect ALL results AND delay emergency services if required.
• Safety Measures: We ask you to stay safe, announce if you are passing from behind, and not to run in groups. PLEASE DO NOT USE EARPODS, HEADPHONES, or similar accessories.
