Van Metre 5K Run

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

• Established: The Van Metre 5K Run was established in 1992 to benefit Children's National Hospital.
• Inclusion: The event includes a One Mile Fun Run/Walk inviting everyone from serious runners, occasional joggers, and walkers of all skill levels to participate.
• Fundraising: To date, the Van Metre 5K Run has raised over $2.9 million dollars in support of Children's National.
• Date and Time: The race takes place on April 26th, 2025, at 8:30 am.

🎉 Race Day Activities

• Kids' Activities: An interactive warm up for the kids, arts and crafts, and face painting.
• Awards: Cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall male and female runners.
• Prizes: Additional prizes for the top two male and female runners in every age group.
• Refreshments: Snacks provided by local restaurants including bottled water, fresh fruit, granola, muffins, donuts, cupcakes, and complimentary pizza.

• Course: The Van Metre 5K Run provides a USATF certified course.
• Timing: Uses a ChronoTrack race timing system with disposable B-tags.
• Participation: Suitable for corporate teams, families with strollers, and dogs.

• 5K Adult: $30
• 5K Youth (12 & Under): $20
• 3-Person Corporate Team: $110
• 4-Person Corporate Team: $125
• 1 Mile Adult: $25
• 1 Mile Youth (12 & Under): $15

📅 Important Dates

• Online Registration: Open through 8:00 am on race day, Saturday, April 26.
• Packet Pickup:
  • Thursday, April 24: 4-7 pm at =PR= One Loudoun (20432 Exchange St., Ashburn, VA 20147).
  • Friday, April 25: 12-5 pm at Rubino's Pizzeria at Broadlands Marketplace (43170 Southern Walk Plaza, Broadlands, VA 20148).
  • Saturday, April 26: 7:30-8:15 am at the Event Venue (Broadlands Marketplace).
• Swag: Race participants will receive a special edition t-shirt and custom race bib.
