This one will be one for the history books! We have literally combined two of the best things in the world... Drinking and Running. While not traditionally put together this chemistry experiment is bound to have some "explosive" results!
Individuals and Relay runners will have a chance to perform a few trail loops at Lakewood Nature Preserve with a little bit of liquid courage to get you to the finish line. Run solo, with your best friend, or on a team of 3 or 4 to complete the 8 Mile course. Beer option only available for those 21 and older.
But the fun doesn't stop at the finish line! After the race, join us for a lively post-run celebration featuring music, pizza, and, of course, more beer. Connect with fellow participants, share your race stories, and bask in the glory of having completed one of the most entertaining races around.
The Preserve at Lakewood is a 120-acre parcel of land which features forest land, dirt trails, parking for 200, and of course, The Sustainability Education Center. The land is home to countless plant/animal species. Upon visiting, you can see red cedar and maple, hickory and flowering dogwood trees, white-tailed deer, eastern cottontail, woodchucks, box turtles, various types of mockingbirds, woodpeckers, blue jays and more.
The event will consist of running 4 laps that are roughly 2 miles each. The course is located at the Lakewood Nature Preserve just outside of Greenville. This event is held at a nature preserve with an old barn that has been repurposed as an educational center of sustainability and renewable energy. The 2 mile course is held on a grass path that is very wide and includes a few rolling hills. During the route keep your eyes up looking for deer, birds, and a few fox meandering through the woods.
