The DSI Triathlon is a choose your own adventure type of triathlon that can be done as a solo, tandem, or relay race.
- Event Options: Racers can do just one event, any two, or the full triathlon from the segments listed below.
- Triathlon and Duathlon: Options can be done as teams or individuals.
- Fundraiser: This event serves as a fundraiser for Red Wing-based Disability Support International (DSI).
- Course Location: 1243 Levee Rd, Red Wing, MN.
π΄ββοΈ Triathlon Segments
- Paddle: 6k paddle (kayak, canoe, SUP).
- Bike: 12.5k mountain bike or 21k road bike.
- Run: 6.4k run.
- Inclusive Event: There is also an untimed inclusive and wheelchair or stroller friendly 4k run, walk, or wheel race.
π Race Schedule
The race will begin with the paddle at 10:00. Racers doing the full triathlon will go through the transition zone at their own schedule. The schedule for different participants is as follows:
- Full Triathlon: Begins with the paddle at 10:00.
- Duathlons: Bike-Run Duathlon or Bike only starts at Colvill Park at 10:45.
- Paddle-Run Duathlon: Directly transitions from paddle to run.
- 6.4k Run Only: Begins at Colvill Park at 11:15.

πΆ 6k Paddle Segment
The race begins at 10:00 at Bay Point Park in Red Wing.
- Eligible Boats: Racers can use kayaks, canoes, or stand-up paddleboards.
- Parking: Participants will park in the overflow lot across the road from Bay Point Park.
- Life Jackets: All boaters must wear a USCG-approved life jacket.
- Boat Rentals: Available from the Red Wing Environmental Learning Center.
π Transition Zone
There is only one transition zone for this race at Colvill Park.
- Designated Spaces: Each racer/team will have a designated parking space for their boat and bike.
- Logistics: Recommended bike drop-off by 9:30.
- Entry: Racers will enter the transition zone on the southwest corner of the parking lot.
- No Biking: Biking is not allowed in the transition zone between timing mats.
π΄ββοΈ Bike Segment
Racers can choose various options for the bike segment.
- Helmet Required: All racers are required to wear a bicycle helmet.
- Course Details: Bike segments follow a prescribed route with specific instructions.
- Timing: The race will be timed using chips over pads.
- Mountain Bike Route: Features steep climbs and single-track trails.

Details for the run segment are as follows:
- Start Time: Run only racers will start at 11:15 at Colvill Park.
- Run Course: The route includes scenic views through Red Wing.
- Finish Line: Loop around Bay Point Park before finishing.
- Course Map: View Map.
πΆββοΈ 4k Untimed Walk/Run
This self-timed, out and back route is for anyone wanting a more leisurely participation.
- Route: Follows the path along the river and is accommodating for all abilities.
- Distance: 4k, starting at the same time as the paddlers.
- Family-Friendly: Great for families and inclusive participants.
- Children: Free for children 5 and under.
