🏅 About the Challenge
- Inspiration: The Sgt. Joshua D. Desforges Walk/Run Challenge is inspired by the life of Sgt. Joshua D. Desforges, a United States Marine killed in combat in Afghanistan in May 2010.
- Event Type: Not an average 5K run/walk: it is better described as a 3+ mile road and trail run.
- Obstacles: Incorporates Marine Corps-inspired obstacles and challenges to test mettle.
- Proceeds: 100% of the proceeds go directly into the Sgt. Joshua D. Desforges Scholarship fund.
🎓 Scholarship Information
- Purpose: All proceeds go to graduating Ludlow High Seniors pursuing their life’s passion, just as Josh did by becoming a United States Marine.
- Eligibility: Open to any student regardless of college plans (trade school, military, or starting a business).
- Community Impact: The scholarship honors Josh’s life while giving back to the community that supported us tremendously when we lost him.
