👣 Purpose of the Walk
- Annual Walk: On Thursday, June 19th, Ms. Opal Lee will complete her annual 2.5-mile walk to recognize the 2.5 years it took for the news and enforcement of freedom to reach the enslaved people in Texas.
- Juneteenth Celebration: Now a national holiday, Juneteenth celebrates the freedom gained when slavery was abolished all across the country.
- Educational Initiative: Unity Unlimited and Ms. Opal continue her walks to educate the nation on the importance of understanding that freedom is for everyone.
🤝 Get Involved
- Host a Branded Walk: For 2025 and 2026, we are inviting organizations to Host a Branded Opal's Walk in their city with a goal of at least one walk in 25 states in 2025 and at least one walk in all 50 states by 2026.
- Partner Sponsors: We are looking for partner sponsors who believe in the mission of educating the country about freedom and Juneteenth's power to heal America.
- Amplify Our Message: To help us amplify this message across the country with a national LIVE broadcast and streaming event on Juneteenth, please submit an inquiry to join forces with us.
