IDEA Public School's Healthy Kids Here program recognizes that the roots of academic success for our students run far deeper than classroom learning alone. IDEA started Healthy Kids Here seven years ago with the goal of becoming the healthiest district in the country. As part of our mission to become the Healthiest District in America, IDEA Public Schools hosts the 4th Annual Healthy Kids Here 5K Run | 1K Walk & Healthy Living Expo to engage the El Paso community in a family-friendly and educational opportunity which encourages families to be active.
Frankie Gray, executive director for IDEA El Paso Public Schools says, “IDEA believes that in order for students to get to and through college and beyond, they also need a foundation of knowledge and skills necessary to maintain their health. As always, we don't do what's easiest for adults: we do what's best for kids.”
Proceeds from the Healthy Kids Here 5K Run will support programming efforts for scholars at IDEA El Paso schools.
As a tuition-free public school, IDEA believes every child can go to college. For the 15th yr IDEA provided college scholarships to 100% of its graduating high school seniors. IDEA El Paso Public Schools offers 5 beautiful campuses to serve El Paso children:
