๐ About the Event
Importance of Exercise: Join us for the 2nd Annual Preventive Medicine Initiative (PMI) 5K, where weโre showing you how to make exercise a part of your life!
Community Celebration: The PMI 5K is more than just a run/walk: itโs a celebration of community, health, and making lasting lifestyle improvements.
Finisher Festival: This yearโs 5K will conclude with a finisher festival offering free snacks, drinks, games, and FUN!
Success Stories: Last year, we took 224 participants from the couch to the finish line!
๐ Supporting the Community
Mobility Clinic: A portion of our donation funds will support the Mobility Clinic at UTMB.
Footwear Access: This student organization ensures that underserved individuals have access to proper footwear & footcare.
Shoe Drives: As of December 2023, theyโve completed three shoe drives and donated over 600 pairs of shoes!
Making a Difference: Your participation helps in providing shoes for those in need.
๐ป Virtual Participation
Virtual Option: For individuals unable to participate in-person, a virtual option is available!
Virtual Bib: Registration includes a virtual bib with the opportunity to pick up a packet the week before the race.
Finisher Stickers: All registrants will receive finisher stickers and prizes while supplies last after the race.
Registration Closes: Registration will close on February 24, 2024 or when all spots have filled.

Event Date: March 2, 2024
Shirts & Donations: If you cannot attend, please consider purchasing a shirt and/or making a donation.
Recycling Policy: Shirts that cannot be picked up will be recycled 2 weeks after the event.
Training Sessions: Dates for beginner-friendly training sessions will be announced soon.

Public Event: This event is public, and participants do not need to be residents of Galveston or affiliated with UTMB.
Pets: Strollers are permitted, but pets will not be allowed on the race course: however, they are welcome at the finisher festival.
