The "5 $5 5Ks" is a series designed as low-key races for runners and walkers who want an event to test themselves without breaking the bank and also those looking for an excuse to be active during the chilly months. Come out and try for a PR or join some friends for a nice walk and conversation. These will be chipped timed races and there will be a race on the fourth monday evening of each month for 5 months. Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these races from swiftly starting at the scheduled times.
Race Fee Notes:
The race fee is $5 per race.
What you get:
-A self serve water station with individual bottles of water that you’ll pass twice.
-A 5k course that is accurate and well-marked including mile markers.
-Support for all levels of runners and walkers.
-An excuse to run 3.1 miles.
What you don’t get:
-T-Shirt for each race – don’t you have a closet full of them already?
-Food at the finish area, unless a local establishment wants to provide something – any takers?
-Verbal splits, unless we have a plethora of volunteers
-Finisher Medals or awards for each race
What you could get:
-Participants who sign up for the Full Series or all 5 races individually will be awarded a "5 $5 5Ks" race series shirt at the last event
-Those who participate in all 5 races in the series will earn the highly coveted "5 $5 5Ks" series award that will have you grinning ear to ear and bragging to all your friends.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES:
Races will be held during limited light hours requiring all participants to wear a light source, preferably a headlamp. Runners will not be allowed to start if they do not have a light!
Runners will cross three roads on the out leg and the same three on the return leg. Runners must yield at all crossings until it is safe to cross! There will not be anybody stopping traffic for runners, you will be responsible for your own safety crossing the roads.
If you have a temperature or feeling sick, stay home!
Participants are asked to stay on the right edge of the course when running except when passing and to allow plenty of space when overtaking others for oncoming runners.
