Stride for Sight 5K and 1 Mile

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

• Unique Event: Stride for Sight 5K is a unique event for all ages and abilities, with blind and sighted runners competing together.
• Fundraising Purpose: The event will help fund the comprehensive programs at the Foundation for Blind Children.
• Race Details: This event will feature a timed 5K and a relaxed 1-mile walk held in Scottsdale.
• Blindfold Challenge: You can compete blindfolded with a team member of your choosing as a sighted guide.

👟 Blindfold Challenge

• Adventure Awaits: For those looking for adventure, the Blindfold Challenge is an opportunity to compete in the 5K run blindfolded with a sighted guide.
• Team Registration: Create a 2-person team and compete blindfolded using one another as a sighted guide.
• Role Switching: Trade roles halfway through to get a taste of the challenges for each position.
• Registration Required: Each teammate must register separately. Blindfolds and tethers will be provided.

🗓️ Event Details and Schedule

• Mail-in Registration: To register by mail please complete and return our Mail-in Registration Form. Please make checks payable to StartLine Racing.
• Virtual Race Option: Participate in the Stride for Sight Virtual Race. You can run at your own pace wherever you like.
• Finisher's Medals: All virtual race participants will receive a custom event finisher's medal and custom event dri-fit tech t-shirt.
• US Registration Only: Virtual Registrations are restricted to US addresses only. Contact StartLine Racing for details if residing outside the US.

• Age Group Awards: Awards for Top Three in all Age Groups in the 5K distance only (Race Day Participants only).

📅 Race Day Information

• Registration Time: Race Day Registration will be available beginning at 7am at Arizona Boardwalk.
• Payment Methods: We accept cash or credit card on race day (no checks accepted).
• Cost: Cost of registration on race day will be $40 for both 5K and 1 Mile.
• Accessibility: We welcome wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons: leashed pets are also allowed.

📦 Packet Pickup Opportunities

• February 28, 2025: Packet pickup from 3:00 - 6:00pm at Sole Sports Scottsdale, 7001 N Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85253.
• March 1, 2025: Packet pickup at Arizona Boardwalk (race location) beginning at 7am.
