On March 29, 2025 KSD of Lawrence County will be hosting its 16th annual Southern Illinois Spring Classic 5K run/walk.
Registration includes race entry, T-shirt*, packet, and medal for 1/2 marathon participants. Rain or shine, no refunds.
*Same day registrations accepted.
Entries must be received by March 1, 2025 or T-shirts arenβt guaranteed.
Virtual Races:
We are offering a Virtual 5K or Half Marathon to those that would rather not be at an event. All prices for the Virtual events are $5 more to be able to ship the packet to your door with a medal if you did the half. You will be able to enter your time on a website.
Packet pick-up will be located inside the school gym at Parkside Elementary School, 1900 Cedar St., Lawrenceville, IL 62439.
Friday: 6pm - 7pm
Saturday: 6:30am - 7:45am
The SISC Half Marathon starts at Parkside Elementary School, continues through Lawrenceville, winds through the Lawrence County countryside and ends on the new Lawrenceville High School track.
The 13.1 mile course is mostly flat. The course will officially close 4 hours after the start time. Please be advised that portions of the course will remain open to traffic.
The 5K course starts at Parkside Elementary School, continues through Lawrenceville and ends on the new Lawrenceville High School track. The course is mostly flat. Please be advised that portions of the course will remain open to traffic.
Bib timing will be provided by To The Finish, LLC. You must pick up your official race bib at the designated packet pick-up time. Please attach the official bib to the front of your shirt prior to the race. If you do not have a bib, you will not be timed.
Pin your race number/bib to the front of your shirt, plainly and visibly to race officials, drivers, photographers, and spectators. All participants must wear an official race number/bib.
Drink fluids before, during and after the race. Stay hydrated! There will be 7 water stations along the course. Three of these stations will also offer Gatorade. Traffic control will be provided by SISC volunteers and the Lawrenceville Police Dept. However, please be advised that although volunteers along the course will deter traffic to the best of their ability, safety is ultimately your own responsibility. Watch for traffic!
First aid will be provided by Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. There will be several stations throughout the course located near water stations. Ambulance support will also be on hand.
Portable toilets will be located throughout the course.
All half marathon participants will receive a medal.
Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers in each age group and must be claimed at the event. The age groups are as follows:
