5K Your Ways

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Distance: 5K Your Way is a 3.1 mile race.
• Course Options: Participants can run or walk on either the asphalt or dirt trail systems.
• Start/Finish: All participants will start at a common point and split off onto their chosen course, merging together again at the finish.
• Trail Conditions: The dirt trail conditions can be affected by weather. If the dirt trails cannot be used, all participants will use the asphalt trails.

🐾 Dog Policy

• Respectful Attendance: We are dog lovers but please leave your pets at home during the race to ensure all participants feel comfortable.

💖 Charity Focus

• Beneficiary: All proceeds from the race will support the NOW [Nutrition on Weekends] program in Crawford County.
• Purpose: This program provides meals to at-risk children when the school system is not available.

🏅 Awards and Recognition

• Category Prizes: Prizes for Top Male and Female Dirt Trail Winners, and Top Male and Female Asphalt Trail Winners.
• Medals: Awards given for 1st place in each age group.
• Age Groups: Categories include 17 and under, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65 and over.

👕 Children's Participation

• Finisher Medal: All children participating in the Kids Fun Run will receive a finisher medal.
• T-Shirts: T-shirts will also be provided for all children in the Kids Fun Run.

📅 Race Schedule

• October 3rd: Early packet pickup and late registration from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Crawford County Forest Preserve shelter.
• October 4th- Race Day:
• Packet Pickup: From 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at Crawford County Forest Preserve Cabin.
• Race Day Events: Pre-race meeting at 7:45 a.m., Kids Fun Run starts at 8:00 a.m., and 5K race starts at 8:15 a.m. Awards and prize drawings at 10:00 a.m.

• Heath Harvest Festival: Features many street vendors with food and crafts for sale and a parade.
• Wabash Valley Wine and Arts Festival: Located in Palestine, IL, featuring wine, food, and craft vendors.
• Stay Informed: Follow all race details on Facebook at 5K Your Way (paved or trail).
• Registration Cutoff: The cutoff date for a guaranteed t-shirt is September 15th. Online registration ends on September 28th.
