Steamboat Springs Turkey Trot

🥇 Race Overview

Welcome to the 2024 Steamboat Springs Turkey Trot, a race that has become one of our community's greatest Thanksgiving traditions. This race/fun run/walk has proven to be such a special day for friends, families and visitors and benefits the Steamboat Springs High School Track & Field and Cross Country programs. The Turkey Trot is a 5K course that starts and ends at Steamboat Springs High School, traveling to beautiful Strawberry Park and back. Dress in your cold weather running gear or even a Thanksgiving Day costume.

👐 Donations

• Non-perishable food donations: Accepted on site for Lift Up Food Bank! A bin will be located near the finish line.
• Bataan Death March: Our race will be offering a charitable contribution to this memorial.
• Ukraine Relief Efforts: Donations will be accepted to help with humanitarian relief.
• Donation options: Cash, checks to Steamboat Track and Field, or online donations on race day.

📅 Event Details

• Date: Thursday, November 28th, 2024.
• Start time: 9:30 am with Opening Ceremony a few minutes prior.
• Registration: "Day of" registration from 8:15-9:00 am.
• Location: 45 Maple Street, Steamboat Springs, CO.

👟 Participants

• Who: Runners, walkers, competitive adaptive, strollers, burly trailers, and leashed dogs.
• Course: Out and back course. Distances can be shortened for children and athletes with special considerations.
• Wheelchair access: Available to all facilities involved in the race.
• Weather: Course conditions may vary: consider yak trax or other shoe traction.

📝 Registration Information

• Pre-Registration: Online registration closes on November 27th at 6:00 pm.
• Packet pickup: Tuesday, November 27th from 4:00-6:00 pm at Steamboat Springs High School.
• Day of Registration: Available from 8:15-9:00 am: increased prices apply.
• Age-Based Pricing: Children 5 and under: $0, Children 6-10: $10, Youth 11-17: $20, Adults 18+: $25.

🏆 Prizes and Awards

• Categories: 1st-3rd place for adult and youth male and female.
• Additional awards: Best overall costume and race ribbons for all youth age 10 and under.
• Raffle drawing: For other participants who stick around for awards.
• Swag: First 350 who register online receive a cool Steamboat Springs logo Buff/Tubie.

• Parking: Available in the main parking lot of Steamboat Springs High School.
• Professional Timing: Ken Rogers and team of Kandu Timing.
