🎉 Free Entry & Community Appreciation

• Cost: Free race to thank the running community and volunteers.
• Participant Cap: Initially set at 50 runners.
• Reservations: 20 additional spots for volunteers and first-time runners.
• Upcoming Events: Need volunteers for Turkey Run, Tunnel Hill 10 Miler, Tunnel Hill 50/100, and Broken Boulder.

🌲 Trail Running History

• Introduction: Jason Claunch introduced trail running in 2014.
• Inspiration: Idea for a free trail race at Ferne Clyffe emerged in a late-night discussion.
• First Race: The inaugural Broken Boulder event took place in 2018.

🌄 Course Experience

• Scenic Route: The course showcases the beauty of Ferne Clyffe State Park.
• Course Details: Features lookout points, creek crossings, and a natural land bridge.
• Terrain: Combination of technical single track and wide fire roads.
• Elevation Gain: 1400’ of climbing over the 11-mile course.

🚰 Race Logistics

• Road & Trail: The first and last ½ mile is on the road: the remainder is on trails.
• Caution: Be aware of dangerous areas within the park: stay on the trail.
• Cup-less Race: Bring your own hydration device (e.g., vest, handheld bottle).
• Aid Stations: Three stations positioned at miles 2.75, 4.75, and around 6. Adhere to safety guidelines.
