Join us for Lakewood Center’s Outrun Stigma 5k and be part of the movement to break the stigma surrounding mental illness. This chip-timed race with age group awards offers you the chance to make a direct impact on the essential services we provide, from long-term residential care to community integration support and groundbreaking therapeutic programs. Through our comprehensive care model, Lakewood Center empowers adults living with serious mental illness to grow, thrive, and achieve greater independence. Every step you take brings us closer to a future where mental health is embraced, understood, and supported by all.

📅 Day of Event Schedule

• 6:30 a.m.: Registration & Pre-Registrations Opens
• 8:00 a.m.: 5K Race Start

👕 Tee Shirts

• Guaranteed: Shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered participants.
• Sold Out: Once a shirt is sold out you will see sold out.
• Race Day: Shirts are not guaranteed on race day.

🏆 Awards

• Top Finishers: Awards will be provided to the top 3 Males and Top 3 Females.
• Age Groups: Awards for top 3 in age groups: include 6 & under, 7-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74-75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+

🎟️ Day of Registration & Packet Pick Up

• Location: Packet pickup and registration will take place on race day at race site.
• Time: From 6:45 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.

🚗 Parking

Parking is plentiful next to the race start location. The race starts and ends at the same location.

⏱️ Timing & Scoring

Race will be timed and scored with a disposable chip provided, which will be attached to the back of the bib.

• Course Length: The 5K is 3.1 miles.
• Timing Method: The race uses an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a transponder chip that will be given out at registration.
• Results: Official results are posted for the top runners in each category.
• Custom Chips: No, you will be provided with a custom chip.

🐕 Participation Rules

• Dogs: Yes, you can participate in the event with your dog.
• Strollers: Yes, nurturing future generations of runners is a priority, but please start in the latter part of the runners.

🚰 On Course Support

• Water: Yes, but there will be a water station on the course as well as at the finish.
• Medical Help: Qualified emergency medical professionals are available to provide assistance at the start/finish lines.

💸 Refund Policy

We appreciate your race registration. We are unable to issue refunds. We are not in a position to credit your credit card or issue checks.

🌧️ Weather Policy

The race is a "rain or shine" event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a raincoat or hat. Umbrellas can pose a safety hazard to others, so please do not bring them.

🏅 Post-Race Ceremony

An awards ceremony will take place after the race at the start/finish location.
