Beast of the Brazos

🌊 The Beast of the Brazos Overview

• Date: 2025-09-06
• Location: Indian Springs Park, Waco, TX
• Distances: 2.4 miles and 1.2 mile open-water swim
• New Event: 750 meter swim sprint added this year!

All registered participants will receive a swim cap, dri-fit shirt, and finisher’s medal.

🏅 Wetsuit Classification

• Relevant For: Determining the top 3 tiered age group for male and female awards.
• Changing Wetsuit: If you register for wetsuit, but decide to change into non wetsuit the morning of, there are no consequences, but please let us know!
• Awards Impact: You just won’t be able to qualify for top 3 tiered age group awards.

🔥 Course Safety

If water temperature is above 90 degrees then the course will be abbreviated for safety reasons.

All proceeds from this race will benefit the Greater Waco Sports Commission, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization devoted to providing opportunities to enhance the lives of those living in Waco and McLennan County through sport and exercise.

🕖 Race Day Schedule of Events *Subject to Change*

• 6:30 am-7:55 am: Packet Pickup/Late Registration
• 7:55 am-8:05 am: Opening Ceremonies at Indian Springs Park
• 8:05 am: Call for 2.4 mile participants to walk to Pecan Bottoms dock for staging
• 8:40 am-11:00 am: 2.4 mile swim with mandatory cut-off time at 11:00 am

• 9:15 am: Call for 1.2 mile participants to walk to Pecan Bottoms dock for staging
• 11:05 am: Awards (Top 3 males and females of each age category & race - 60 total)
• 11:30 am: TBD
