Greater Goldsboro Road Run - Run for a Child

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Experience: Experience one of the oldest road runs in North Carolina. Except for the 2020 year due to the pandemic, the event has been held annually since 1979.
• Location: Run or walk on a USATF certified course primarily along streets lined with azaleas and dogwoods at The Hub in Goldsboro, NC.
• Safety: Our volunteers will observe safety precautions as necessary to facilitate another excellent event.

🌟 Event Details

• Date: 2025-03-29
• Fundraiser: The Run for a Child – 46th Annual Greater Goldsboro Road Run is facilitated by the Sunrise Kiwanis of Goldsboro.
• Support: Funds generated go toward financial support for over 20 local organizations that assist the needy children and youth of Wayne County.
• Routes: Our 10K run, 5K Run/Walk, and 1-mile Fun Run routes are downtown again this year, starting at 9:00 AM.

📝 Registration Information

• Location: Registration and Pre-Registration at The Hub, 200 S. Center St., Goldsboro.
• Entry Fees:
  • 5K Walk, 5K Run, 10K Run: $30.00 pre-registration, $40.00 race day registration.
  • 1 Mile Fun Run: $20.00 pre-registration, $15.00 each for 2 or more members of the same immediate family.
• Deadline: Online pre-registration ends at 11:00 PM, Wed., March 26, 2025. Hard copy pre-registration ends at 5:00 PM, Thursday, March 27, 2025.
• Pickup: Race day pre-registration pickup begins at 7:00 AM.

🏆 Awards

• 5K and 10K Runs: First Place – Trophy, Second Place – Silver Medallion, Third Place – Bronze Medallion, First Three Places in each age group – Medallion.
• 1 Mile Fun Run: Medal for each participant.

🏅 Race Categories

• 5K Walk/Run & 10K Run: under 15, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.
• 1-Mile Fun Run: open to all ages.

⏱️ Timing and T-Shirts

• Timing: Electronic bib timing by Run the East LLC.
• Pickup: All pre-registered entrants can pick up registration packs at check-in the morning of the run.
• T-Shirts: Race t-shirts are provided to all participants that pre-register. Available in Youth Small, Medium, and Large, and Adult Small, Medium, Large, and XL.
• Early Pickup: Participant registration packs can also be picked up from 5:30 – 6:00 PM on Friday, March 28th at the downtown Goldsboro Fire Department.
