🏃‍♂️ ABOUT THE RACE

On Saturday, March 28th the Suffolk County Council of Boy Scouts of America and the Andrew McMorris Foundation will host the 5th Annual Andrew’s Top Gun Run to raise the funds for Scholarships and Scouterships.

In September of 2018, Boy Scout Troop 161 was hiking the Greenbelt Trail when a drunk driver tragically hit them. Several scouts were severely injured: as a result of his injuries, 12 year old Andrew McMorris passed away. The lives of his family, friends, community and fellow scouters were forever changed by his loss. Andrew McMorris was an incredible, kind, and passionate individual with insurmountable potential for his future. In the wake of this immeasurable tragedy, we choose to step forward and celebrate Andrew's life, his 20th birthday, love of aviation and scouting!

As a participant YOU will have the unique opportunity to run or walk the runway in Andrew’s honor. This is going to be a fast and flat run. An opportunity for a personal best time given the course and the cool weather.

Take Long Island Expressway to William Floyd Parkway Exit 68. Head north on William Floyd Parkway. Exit for Route 25 East (Middle Country Road), Calverton Executive Park on Right Hand side. Make Right at traffic light to enter Calverton Enterprise Park. Make left onto runway and follow signs to parking.

Take Long Island Expressway to Exit for Route 25 East (Middle Country Road), Calverton Executive Park on Left hand side. Make light at traffic light to enter Calverton Enterprise Park. Make left onto runway and follow signs to parking.

OR

Take Long Island Expressway to William Floyd Parkway Exit 68. Head north on William Floyd Parkway. Exit for Route 25 East (Middle Country Road), Calverton Executive Park on Right Hand side. Make Right at traffic light to enter Calverton Enterprise Park. Make left onto runway and follow signs to parking.

• Pre-Registration Pickup: Friday Night 3/27 from 5pm-7pm ON THE RUNWAY!
• Registration Opens: 7:30am on Race Day!
• 5K Start: 9:00am
• Fun Run Start: 8:30am

5K Awards:

• Top three male and female finishers overall.
• Top three males and females in the following age groups: 1-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+.

Amenities: Chip Timed Event

T-shirts guaranteed for participants who register by March 18th!

💰 ENTRY FEES

5K:

• $30 w/ event shirt guaranteed if registered by March 18th.
• $35 Day-of.

Fun Run:

• $15 w/ event shirt guaranteed if registered by March 18th.
• $20 Day-of.

VIRTUAL 5K:

• $30 w/ event shirt guaranteed if registered by March 18th.
• Virtual runners not eligible for awards.

Virtual Race Information & Participant Instructions:

• When/Where: You may run your race anywhere you choose at your own convenience and post your results anytime by March 30th.
• Upload your results and photos on the race website.
• How to Download Your Race Bib: Only for virtual runners.
