The Rhode Island Half Marathon and 5K is BACK and set for Sunday, May 18th, 2025.
🏃♂️ RACE DETAILS
- Event Options: Choose from either the half marathon or 5K.
- Scenic Views: Enjoy views of Narragansett Bay and the Providence skyline.
- Course Certification: Both courses are USATF-certified and start/finish at Pierce Memorial Stadium.
- Participant Cap: The Half Marathon will be capped at 2,000 participants.
🏁 COURSE UPDATES FOR 2025
- Final Hill Removed: The Half Marathon course will no longer include the final hill of the 2024 course at Mile 12.
- Start Time: Both races will start together at 7:30 AM.
- 5K Route: The 5K will follow Veteran’s Memorial Parkway, turning onto the bike path for a scenic finish.
- Additional Facilities: Extra porta-potties at Pierce Field and on-course.

- Shirts: T-shirts for all entrants who register online before race day.
- Finisher Medallions: For both the Half Marathon & 5K.
⏱️ PACE GROUPS
- Experienced Pacers: The team from Marathon Sports will lead six groups.
- Available Times: 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, and 3:00.
- Joining Groups: No signup required: meet your Pace Lead on race morning.
- Location: Head to the start line at least 15 minutes early.
💳 ENTRY FEES
Online registration will close on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 7 PM.
- Half Marathon Fees: $65 to 12/31/2024: $70 from 1/1/2025 to 2/28/2025: etc.
- 5K Fees: $32 to 12/31/2024: $34 from 1/1/2025 to 2/28/2025: etc.
- Refund Policy: No refunds and no pets allowed.
- Safety Note: Stroller participants should start in the back for safety.
📦 PACKET PICKUP
We encourage everyone who is able to pick up their race number before race day.
- Pre-Race Pickup: Saturday, May 10th and Friday, May 16th at Marathon Sports.
- Race Day Pickup: Starting at 6:15 AM on Sunday, May 18th.
- Location: Pierce Memorial Stadium, 201 Mercer St, East Providence, RI 02914
- Parking: Available at stadium lots and surrounding areas: do not park where cones are placed.
🏆 PRIZE STRUCTURE
- Awards: Top 3 Overall and age group winners.
- Team Awards: Top Family and Friends team awards based on chip times.
- Team Entries: Unlimited team entries: same fees as individual.
- Winning Criteria: Individual awards based on gun times.
