Rhode Island Half Marathon & 5K

The Rhode Island Half Marathon and 5K is BACK and set for Sunday, May 18th, 2025.

🏃‍♂️ RACE OVERVIEW

• Courses: Choose from either the half marathon or 5K, which offer some of the best views in Rhode Island, including scenic views of Narragansett Bay and the iconic Providence skyline along the East Bay Bike Path.
• Course Certification: Both USATF-certified courses conveniently start and finish at Pierce Memorial Stadium in East Providence, RI.
• Participant Cap: The Rhode Island Half Marathon will be capped at 2,000 participants. Once the field is sold out, a waitlist will be opened in the event more slots become available.
• Registration: Register today to reserve your spot on the start line with us!

📋 COURSE UPDATES FOR 2025

• No Hills: The Half Marathon course will no longer include the final hill of the 2024 course at Mile 12.
• Start Time: The Half Marathon & 5K races will start together at 7:30am at Pierce Field.
• 5K Route: The 5K will follow Veteran’s Memorial Parkway with the half marathon before turning right onto the bike path at Kettle Point Ave.
• Facilities: Additional porta-potties at Pierce Field as well as on-course.

• Start Times: Half Marathon Start Time: 7:30 AM // 5K Start Time: 7:30am

• T-shirts: T-shirts for all entrants who register online before race day. Shirts are not guaranteed for entries on race day.

🎖️ HALF MARATHON PACE GROUPS

The Pacers from the experienced team at Marathon Sports will be leading six groups in the RI Half Marathon. Full details can be found below.

• PACE TIMES: We will have pace groups for the following finishing times: 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, and 3:00.
• Joining Groups: Sign up is not required to join a Pace Group. Simply meet your Pace Lead on race morning!
• Meeting Pacers: To meet up with the pacers on race day, head to the start line at least 15 minutes before the start of the race.
• Final Instructions: Five to 10 minutes before the start, your Pace Group Lead will give you their final instructions.

💰 ONLINE ENTRY FEES

Online registration will close on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 7pm.

• Rhode Island Half Marathon: $70 to 12/31/2024, $75 1/1/2025 to 2/28/2025, $80 3/1/2025 to 4/15/2025, $85 4/16/2025 to 5/17/2025, $95 Walk Up Registration Race Weekend.
• Rhode Island 5k Run/Walk: $32 to 12/31/2024, $36 1/1/2025 to 3/2/2025, $38 3/3/2025 to 4/15/2025, $40 4/16/2025 to 5/17/2025, $45 Walk Up Registration Race Weekend.
• Refund Policy: No refunds. No pets. If you are running or walking with a stroller, we ask that you start in the back for safety purposes.
• Participant Cap: The Half Marathon field will be capped at 2,000 participants.

📦 PACKET PICKUP INFORMATION

• Pre-Race Pickup: Saturday, May 10th // 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Location: Marathon Sports, Providence Place, Level One, 1 Providence Place, Providence, RI.
• Race Day Pickup: Race day, Sunday May 18th, 2025. Starting at 6:15am at Pierce Memorial Stadium.
• Parking: Parking is available at the stadium parking lots on Mercer Ave and at parking lots located at 450 Veterans Memorial Pkwy.
• Parking Restrictions: Please do not park where cones are placed on the course.

🏅 PRIZE STRUCTURE

• Individual Awards: Top 3 Overall, Winners (Under 19), Winners (age 20-29), Winners (age 30-39), Winners (age 40-49), Winners (age 50-59), Winners (age 60-69), Winners (age 70+).
• Team Awards: Top Family and Friends Team (Unlimited team entries. Top 3 score).
• Entry Fees: The entry fee is same as individual fees shown above.
• Timing: Team awards are based on chip times.
