🌊 The Rend Lake Marathon
The Rend Lake Marathon, Half-Marathon and Quarter-Marathon offers:
- Gorgeous Paths: Stunning views and rolling country roads make this course the Marathon to remember!
- Location: Rend Lake, IL, located in the heart of southern Illinois, is a natural haven for wildlife and a recreational haven for visitors.
- Recreational Opportunities: Rend Lake consists of 18,900 acres of water and 20,000 acres of land, with nearly 800 sites found in 5 public campgrounds.
- Access: Boaters are provided access to the lake through numerous boat ramps, with beaches, picnic sites, and trails providing a perfect backdrop for outdoor fun.
🌅 Course Highlights
The course will take you across the lake for:
- Panoramic Views: Enjoy one of the best panoramic views in Illinois.
- Bike Path: Connect to the bike path which passes South Sandusky Beach, the Marina, Rend Lake Visitors Center, and the amazing spillway.
- Scenic Route: Winding country roads through beautiful vistas, including both Lake Hamilton and Lake Benton.
- Finish Line: End at the stunning North Marcum Beach.
