🏃‍♂️ What is the Mountaineer 5K?

The Mountaineer 5k is a 5-kilometer race organized by the Summit Academy Parent Teacher Organization.

Participants: We welcome, runners, walkers, wheelchairs and strollers, but no pets allowed.
Beneficiaries: The race benefits Summit Academy Mountaineers athletics and clubs.
Goals: We are hoping to raise money to provide new equipment to the students that will enrich their extracurricular experiences.
Health Awareness: We also want to raise health and fitness awareness, and this is a great opportunity to start or continue your wellness journey!

💵 Registration Cost:

Until January 12, 2025: $25.00
January 13 - February 1, 2025: $35.00
February 2 - March 15, 2025: $45.00
March 15 - 22, 2025: $50.00

Finishers Medal: An Awesome finishers medal
T-Shirt: Cool t-shirt
Water Stations: Water stations along the course
Awards: Overall and Age Group Awards made by students in the Dobson High School Ceramics Department.

Awards Ceremony will begin at 8:40am.

Our age group awards include:

8 and under
9-10 year olds
11-13 year olds
14-17 year olds
18-24 year olds
25-29 year olds
30-34 year olds
35-39 year olds
40-44 year olds
45-49 year olds
50-54 year olds
55-59 year olds
60-64 year olds
65-69 year olds

75 and Up

Post-Race food and drinks at our finish line festival.

Chip Timed with Real Time Results. Please note any race-related items (shirts, medals, etc.) will NOT be mailed to those that do not attend and no refunds will be given.

🏞️ The Course:

Fast and flat! We will start at the Summit Academy Junior High Track and run thru the school, thru the parking lot, down the alley behind the school then on to the canal. The majority of the race will be on the canal and finishing at the Junior High Track.

📦 Packet Pick up:

Option 1: Friday 3/21 from 4:30pm-6:30pm in front of Summit Academy Junior High, 1550 W Summit Place, Chandler, AZ.
Option 2: Packet pick-up on the morning of the race starting at 6:30am.

🗓️ Race Day Information:

Registration: Race Day Registration will be available online until 3/22/25 at 7am.
Shirt Sizes: No shirt size is guaranteed for those who register on race day.
Equipment: No roller blades, skateboards or motorized devices are allowed on the run or walk courses.
Weather: We run rain or shine. There are no refunds or transfer due to weather. We will be starting promptly at 8am.

Park in the Summit Academy parking lot or on the street where parking is permitted.
