Hot Pursuit 5k & 1 Mile Catch-A-Cop

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The Third Annual Hot Pursuit 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile Catch-A-Cop will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025! This is a chip timed race starting and finishing at Doodle Park in Pickens, SC. The race will be ran on a Certified Course.

👮‍♂️ Catch-A-Cop Fun

• Participants: Kids ages 8th grade and under.
• Objective: Attempt to "catch a cop" and collect flags on a course from Doodle Park to Bruce Field.
• Police Car Ride: After their race, participants will ride back to Doodle Park in a procession of police cars.

💰 Proceeds and Community Impact

ALL PROCEEDS from this race will go towards purchasing a wheelchair accessible swing to be placed in Easley, SC.

• School Information: Youth Leadership Academy is a charter middle school in Pickens, SC serving 288 students in grades 6-8.
• Community Engagement: Each year, students participate in a service project benefiting the local community.
• Past Project: Previously raised funds for special needs children in the area.
• Current Focus: Providing wheelchair accessible swings at Doodle Park.

⏰ Race Timing

• Race Start: The race will begin at 9:00 am.
• Awards Ceremony: Awards will be presented around 10:00 am after the last participant has finished.

🏆 Awards Structure

• Overall Awards: 1st/2nd/3rd overall for Male/Female under 40 years.
• Masters Awards: 1st/2nd/3rd Male/Female for ages 40+ (Masters Male and Female).
• Age Level Awards: Given in 10 year age intervals.

📝 Registration Details

• Registration Includes: Race entry with timing, race t-shirt, and finishing medal.
• T-Shirt Cut Off: March 31.
• Post-Cut Off: If registered after April 30, no t-shirt will be included.

📅 Packet Pick Up

• Friday Pickup: April 11 from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm at Pickens Doodle Park.
• Morning Pickup: 7:00 am - 8:30 am at Pickens Doodle Park.
