Azalea Festival 5k

🏃‍♀️ Event Overview

• Date: April 26, 2025
• Location: 415 E. Cedar Rock St, Pickens, SC
• Race Series: This is the 2nd race in The Pickens County 5k Race Series.
• Timing: This is a chip timed race starting and finishing at the Doodle Park in Pickens on a certified course.

🎓 Scholarship Fund

• Proceeds: All proceeds from the race will go to the Beverly Smith Scholarship Fund.
• PWA Mission: The Pickens Women’s Association (PWA) is a non-profit civic organization that works to increase community awareness and involvement in Pickens.
• Scholarship Details: This memorial scholarship honors Beverly Smith and is awarded to a female graduating from Pickens High School who exhibits exceptional leadership and civic skills.
• Charitable Contributions: Any proceeds above the scholarship amount are donated to local charities.

🏅 Race Details

• Start Time: The race will start promptly at 10:00 am.
• Award Ceremony: Should be around 11:15 am after the last runner has completed the course.
• Awards: Overall Male and Female winners will receive cash awards of $100, $75, and $25 for the top three, plus age group awards at 10-year intervals.
• Family-Friendly: New age group categories include 3 deep under 10, 3 deep 10-14, and 1 deep 15-19 group.

🎽 Packet Pick-up

• Location: Under the shelter at Doodle Park in Pickens.
• Date: Friday, April 25, 2025, from 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm.
• Race Day: Packet pick-up also available on race morning from 8:00 am - 9:30 am.

👕 Tee Shirts

• Eligibility: Runners who register by April 18, 2025, will receive a tee shirt.
• After Deadline: Tee shirts will not be available after April 18, 2025.
• Kids Special Pricing: Special pricing for kids under 16: they will not receive a tee shirt but will get a finisher medal and be eligible for awards.
• Sizing Note: Challenges with shirt sizing for kids: choose regular registration for shirts.

🚗 Parking

• Location: Parking is available on E. Cedar Rock St.
• Additional Parking: City Works on Railroad St also offers parking.
