đź‘Ą Who We Are
The Friends of Wilton Recreation, Inc. has been formed to seek private funding to assist the Wilton recreation facilities and programs to benefit activities for all ages in our community. The Friends of Wilton Recreation, Inc. aims to support the recreation programs by securing monies and resources, developing community relationships, and serving as an advocate for development outside the department’s budget. Our mission is to assist a Park and Recreation System which enriches the quality of life for residents and visitors alike, and preserves it for future generations. This will enable us to provide learning, competition and an enjoyable, social experience that promotes development of the whole person (not just the athlete) including respect of one’s self and others, the programs, the coaches, counselors, our families and the community.
🏞️ Ways Recreation Serves Our Community
- Central Complex: Gavin Park is a central recreation complex for residents of the Town of Wilton and surrounding communities.
- Youth Activities: Offers a myriad of youth activities such as an After School Program and Summer Day Camp, sports programs for baseball, soccer, basketball, pickleball and coaches’ clinics.
- Community Events: Hosts family celebrations like the Holiday Tree lighting and Community Day, and regional athletic tournaments that bring thousands of people to the area.
- Employment Opportunities: Provides employment opportunities for many area youth.
