🐾 Black Dog Road Race 5K - 10K - Kids Fun Run
The Legend of the Hanging Hills Black Dog has been around for over 100 years. A mysterious black dog that has been spotted countless times and is said to bring good luck, bad luck, and even death! The Black Dog awaits.
Join us for this Halloween weekend at Hubbard Park in Meriden, CT for the return of the Black Dog Road Race!
- 5K: An out and back course that runs along the beautiful Merimere Reservoir with some rolling hills throughout the course.
- 10K: One of the most challenging 10K's in Connecticut, with 6.2 miles out and back from Hubbard Park to Castle Craig including over 750 ft of elevation in the first 3.1 miles.
- Free Kids Fun Run: Kids will run, jog, and walk the small loop around the playscape and main parking lot area, covering about 4/10ths of a mile in distance.
🏃♂️ Running for a Purpose and Our Community
This year, proceeds from the race will benefit local Mental Health programs that focus on helping youth and families.

- Top 3 male and female overall winners
- Top male and female in age groups: 14 & Under, 15 - 19, 20 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, 60 - 69, 70+
👻 Costume Contest Award:
To celebrate Halloween, participants are encouraged to dress up in their favorite family-friendly costumes!
Costume Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony following the race!
