Air Line Trail Ghost Run

Event Overview

The Parks & Recreation Departments of Hebron, Colchester, and East Hampton are collaborating along with the State of CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to host our 21st Annual Ghost Run! The 13.1 mile certified half marathon course follows the historic Air Line Trail for roughly 11 miles, through pristine and picturesque rural Connecticut Forests and small towns. The trail is mostly flat with packed stone, gravel, and earthen material.

Registration Details

• Shirt Eligibility: Runners registered by October 4th will receive a race T-Shirt. Registrations after October 4th will not receive a shirt, and there will NOT be extra shirts available or for sale.
• Registration Deadline: November 6th by 1:00pm. PREREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. There is no day of registration available.
• Bib Pickup: Early Bib pickup is scheduled for Friday November 6th, from 11am-3pm at the Burnt Hill Park Office Building (148 East Street, Hebron, CT, 06248).
• Fees: $50 Individual Runner / $100 Relay Team.

Participation Guidelines

• Runner Only: This event is for runners only, we are unable to accommodate walkers. We do understand that runners may need to walk periodically.
• No Pets: This event does not allow dogs.

Course Details

• Start Location: The race begins at Hebron Elementary School located on Route 85.
• Route: Runners will run south on Route 85 for about 2 miles and pick up the Air Line Trail behind Juliano’s Pools.
• Trail Continuation: The race continues on the Air Line Trail through Colchester and into East Hampton.
• Final Stretch: At the Trail Head runners will continue on the trail to Watrous Street, to Summit Street: follow Summit Street to Center Elementary School.

Relay Legs

• Leg 1: Start to Grayville Road - Hebron (3.6 mi.)
• Leg 2: Grayville Road to River Road Overpass - Colchester (4.2 mi.)
• Leg 3: River Road Overpass to Finish Line - Center School, East Hampton (5.3 mi.)
• Shuttle Info: Relay runners: Shuttle buses will drop you off and pick you up at designated locations (see shuttle bus schedule).

Shuttle Bus Schedule

• Bus 1: Depart Center School in East Hampton (7 Summit St.) at approx. 7:45AM to transport runners to Hebron Elementary School (Rt. 85 in Hebron).
• Bus 2: Depart Center School in East Hampton at approx. 8:10AM transport runners to Hebron Elementary School, Rt. 85 Hebron.
• Bus 3: Depart Center School in East Hampton at approximately 8:25AM to transport runners to Hebron Elementary School.
• Bus 4: Shuttle from Hebron Elementary School to Grayville Road relay location. The bus will leave just after the race starts and wait until after the last runner crosses.
