The Vernon Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot is coming! Are you ready?
🎉 Event Purpose
- Fundraising: Each year, Vernon Recreation hosts a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot to raise funds and collect non perishables for the Harvest House Food Pantry located in Sussex, NJ.
- Community Initiative: The Harvest House Community Lunch Program was established by 13 Vernon Township High School students in 1997 as the VTHS Hunger Project.
- Mission: It is a nonprofit 501c(3) corporation that continues with its mission to provide nourishing meals in a clean, welcoming safe environment to those in need.
- Impact: They currently serve 50+ people A DAY through a pickup and go system.
👟 Event Details
So, dust off your finest feathers and join the Vernon Township Board of Recreation for a breath of fresh autumn air Thanksgiving morning to hobble before you gobble. It's easy as pumpkin pie! Run or walk.... on your own, with the family or create a team with some friends - this is a fun tradition to kickoff this day of giving and benefit such a worthy cause.
- Route: Our route is a nice combination of hills and turns through a picturesque rural landscape, including a cheering section of local cows!
- Location: 68 Sandhill Rd, Sussex, NJ.
- Pricing: Flying solo (individual) registration - $25.00 (Price increases to $30 on 11/14/24 and day of).
- Group Discounts: Flocks of four or more - $20 each participant (Price increases to $25 per person on 11/14/24 and day of).
