🏃‍♂️ SARR Great Greenway Marathon Relay

Get ready for 2025! More teams, more awards, more challenges! New this year: we will crown the King & Queen of the Hill (details below).

🌳 Course Overview

Location: McAllister Dog Park Trail Head, San Antonio, TX.
Distance: You and your team can cover 26.2 miles of this beautiful, scenic, shaded course.
Team Size: Minimum of 2 and up to 5 runners per team.
Relay Legs: The race consists of 5 Relay Legs ranging from 4.5 to 6.5 miles.

📍 Race Details

Start Location: McAllister Dog Park.
Relay Handoffs: Relay 1 at Walker Ranch, Relay 2 at 1604 trailhead, Relay 3 at The Rim Trailhead, Relay 4 at Fox Park trailhead.
Finish Line: Mainland trailhead off Bandera road with parking available at Wal-Mart across the street.
Celebration: Medals and celebrations await your team at the finish.

👟 Registration Information

Participants: Must register separately and either create a team or join an existing team.
Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 14 years old.
Registration Fee: Fee is per person.
Sold Out: This race SOLD OUT the last 2 years, so register early!

🏆 Awards

Awards will be given for top 3 teams in the following categories:

Junior: Ages 14-20 (All Male, All Female, Mixed)
Open: (All Male, All Female, Mixed)
Masters: Age 40+ (All Male, All Female, Mixed)
Non-Binary: Only First Place team awarded in this category.

NOTE: All Mixed categories must have at least 2 females per team.

📜 Race Rules

Team Verification: All members of each team eligible for awards are subject to verification by race officials.
Baton Requirement: All runners must carry the team baton while running their leg(s).
5th Leg Requirement: 5th leg runner must wear the red race bib/number.
Disqualification: The race director may disqualify anyone for not adhering to the rules.

📦 Packet Pickup

All packets MUST be picked up at one of the dates below. THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP.

Choose Representative: Please choose one person to pick up for your relay team.
Batons: Will be given out on race day at the start line.
Packet Pickup Dates: TBD.

🕒 Race Timings

Time Limit: There will be a 7-hour time limit on the marathon relay course.
Start Time: 7:00 AM.
Cutoff Time: 2:00 PM.
Water Stops: Water coolers and cups will be located at various points along the course.

💲 Discounts

Register early: SARR members receive a 25% discount with online registration through 12/31/24 (automatically applied at checkout). Runners age 20 or younger and age 70+ get a 50% discount with online registration through 12/31/24 (no other discounts apply). Military (active/retired) get a $5 discount (no other discounts apply). Please show ID at packet pickup. Expires 45 days before Race Day.
