Gaston Lions Club Twenty Third Annual 5K Run and Walk

Event Details

• Date: Saturday, August 1, 2026
• Location: Wes-Del Elementary School, 500 East Jackson Street, Gaston, IN 47342
• Registration: Opens at 7:00 AM and closes at 8:00 AM
• Race Start: 8:30 AM at the Town of Gaston

Shuttle Information

• Shuttle Registration: Must register by 7:30 AM
• Drop-off: Vehicles can be dropped off at the Gaston Lions Club Park
• Post-Race Shuttle: Provided back to the Town of Gaston
• Start Point: Corner of South Washington and Vine Streets

Race Course

• Route: Through the town of Gaston, South on the Cardinal Greenway, and more
• End Point: Gaston Lions Club Park, 7449 W. CR 850 N
• Course Conditions: Mostly flat with straight sections for good times

Race Features

• Course Support: Manpower at turns by Gaston Lions Club Members or police officers
• Mile Markers: Placed every half mile along the route
• Water Stations: One or two stations depending on temperature
• Finish Line: Snacks and drinks available

Awards and Prizes

• Awards: Top three finishers in each of eleven age groups for male and female
• Overall Winners: Awards for overall male and female runners
• Door Prizes: LOTS of prizes available!
• T-Shirts: All preregistered participants will receive one

Age Groups

• Categories: 12 & Under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29
• Additional Groups: 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-65
• Further Ranges: 66-69, 70-75, and 76 & over

Kids Fun Run

• Event Time: About 9:15 AM, after the 5K Run
• Distance: Approximately a quarter mile
• Awards: All kids participating will receive an award
