🏃♂️ 2nd Annual Kirkwood School District Cross Country Meet
What:
- A district-wide, two-day, cross country meet for all Kirkwood Elementary and Middle Schools in October of 2024.
- Students in grades 6-8 will compete on Day 1 along with the KHS Girls' JV Cross Country Team, while grades 3-5 will compete on Day 2.
- Race distances: 1 Mile for grades 3-5 and 1.5 miles for grades 6-8. No cost to students/KSD families.
Who:
- Hosted by Big River Race Management, Kirkwood High Cross Country Teams, and KSD Parent Volunteers.
- Open to all families residing within the KSD boundaries.
Where: Kirkwood Park
When:
- Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 - Middle Schools (Grade 6-8)
- Thursday, October 17th, 2024 - Elementary Schools (Grade 3-5)
Why: To introduce cross country to KSD students and promote an active lifestyle.

- 4:30 PM - 6th, 7th, 8th Grade Girls 1.5M
- 5:00 PM - 6rd, 7th, 8th Grade Boys 1.5M
Thursday, Oct. 17
- 4:30-5:45 PM - Races for Grades 3-5
🏅 Awards
Awards:
- All participants receive a ribbon, and a team trophy is awarded to top elementary and middle schools based on combined points for top runners.
- A traveling trophy will be given to the winning school each year.

Participation:
- Open to all KSD district students grades 3-8.
- Registration managed by parents: event coordination by Big River Race Management and KSD Parent Volunteers.
