🎉 12th Annual Happy Jack 5K

Join The Happy Jack Fund at our 12th Annual Happy Jack 5K on October 19, 2024, at Germonds Park, West Nyack, NY. The Happy Jack 5K is an annual, family-friendly 5k walk/run that honors the life of our son, John Thomas "Happy Jack" Doyle.

• Proceeds: All proceeds go to The Happy Jack Fund which provides annual scholarships to HS students who have lost a sister/brother as well as providing families with support who are suffering through the loss of a child.
• Event Details: The race is held in West Nyack, NY, and is an officially timed out-and-back style race beginning and ending in Germonds Park.
• Traffic Control: Traffic is controlled by the Clarkstown Police Department.
• Fun Run: Additionally, we also offer a kid’s fun run for all ages prior to the 5k.

📝 Registration Information

Registration is currently open and we encourage everyone to sign up ASAP. Shirts will be provided to the first 200 registered runners in the main race (kids race participants will not receive a t-shirt).

• Participation Medals: All participants will receive a participation medal in both the kids race as well as the main event.
• Team Participation: We also encourage participants to start teams. The top five teams with the most registrations will be awarded Tropies.

🌟 The Course

This is an out-and-back style race starting in the parking lot of Germonds Park. Runners will follow a clearly marked course with signs and volunteers to direct and support you.

• Route Overview: Exit left out of the park and follow Germonds Road to the end making another left hand turn until you turn right onto Lyncrest Avenue.
• Walkers: Walkers will follow the same route (behind the runners).
• Volunteers: The course will have volunteers to direct and support you.

👕 Event Shirts

Event shirts will be distributed to the first 200 participants who register. Sizes are not guaranteed and will be given out as supplies last.

• Pickup: Race bib and shirt pick up will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at District 96 in New City and will also be available on race day starting at 7:30 am.

🏆 Results and Awards

Awards will be given to the top Female & Male overall winners as well as the top 3 Teams with the best cumulative time results.

• Age Group Awards: Top 3 female and male in age groups: 9-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.

🚗 Parking and Bathrooms

All participants and spectators can park in the lower parking lot of Germonds Park. Bathrooms are located on the West side of the parking lot.

• Parking Restrictions: Do not park in the coned area and/or near the stage.

😷 Covid Safety

All participants are required to sign the waiver upon signing up. You may not attend the event if you have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 or tested positive in the fourteen (14) days prior to the event.

• Notification: Should you test positive in the fourteen (14) days after the event you must notify The Happy Jack Fund at racecommittee@happyjackfund.org.
