NIGHT RACE

Join us: on June 28th at 9:15 PM for a race like no other as we shut down the airport just for you!

Run on the airstrip: Get your running shoes on, fly along the taxiway and run on the airstrip at night!

Unique view: Enjoy this unique view of the airport from the runway!

Flat course: Join family, friends, and fellow aviation-enthusiasts as you run at KXAV, the flattest course in the region!

🏅 2025 Amenities

Top Gun Medal: Runners receive a Top Gun "Top Run" themed medal and a cool Top Run shirt.

🎆 Fireworks

Start time: Fireworks start at 10:00 PM so runners/walkers can enjoy them during/after the race!

Sponsored by: The fireworks are sponsored by the New Knoxville Independence Day Celebration June 28th-29th.

Food trucks: We will also be bringing back the food trucks after your finish.

🌌 Moon City Challenge

Register for the Moon Series: Receive the extra MOON CHALLENGE Medal for all 3 races!

Included races: This includes: Fly Me To The Moon (June 28th), Rocket Run 5K (July 4th) and Run to the Moon (July 19th).

Challenge medal eligibility: This is the only place to sign up for all three races and also obtain the moon series challenge medal.

Individual registration: Signing up for races individually will not qualify you to receive the moon series challenge medal.

💻 Virtual Race Option

Participate virtually: If you cannot make any of the races for the "In-Person" events, you have the option to participate virtually for one, two or all of them and still receive the Challenge Medal.

Medal award: The Moon City Challenge Medal will be awarded at the 3rd race in the series.

📅 Packet Pick Up

Friday: 6/27/2025 from 5-7 PM at Neil Armstrong Airport

Race Day: 6/28/2025 from 7 PM - 9:15 PM at Neil Armstrong Airport

✈️ Aviation Heritage

Wapakoneta/New Knoxville is where Neil Armstrong learned how to fly over these fields in his teenage years. He received his pilot's license when he was only 16 years old.

The Neil Armstrong Airport aims to celebrate the past, present and future of aviation with race donations benefiting the Airport's aviation scholarship fund that makes awards to local students, and the New Knoxville Community Park to provide continued park improvements for future generations of families to enjoy.
