Overview

The Glastonbury Education Foundation 5K Run/Walk (or “GEF5K”) is a rebranding of the Bill Landers Building Bridges Memorial Hybrid 5K Run/Walk (or "BL5K"), which the Foundation has sponsored in Glastonbury, Connecticut, since 2008.

• Date: Sunday, May 31, 2026
• Location: Hubbard Green, Glastonbury, CT
• Start Time: 8:30 a.m.
• Route: The race will follow the former BL5K route, with bib chip timing.

Sanctioning and Parking

• Sanctioned Race: This event is sanctioned and serves as a qualifier for the Manchester Road Race.
• Parking: Available at Glastonbury High School, 330 Hubbard Street in Glastonbury.

Purpose and Proceeds

The GEF5K is sponsored by the Glastonbury Education Foundation and enhances the Foundation's ability to fund programs, projects and initiatives that elevate the educational experience of Glastonbury residents.

• Scholarships: Proceeds from the GEF5K will be used to award scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each.
• Eligibility: Scholarships will be awarded to a graduating senior of Glastonbury High School attending a public or private four-year university in Connecticut.
