Race Overview

The $5K is designed as a low-key race for the athlete who wants to run a tune-up race to prepare for their targeted event, the novice who may be intimidated by larger events, and runners/walkers who want an event to test themselves without breaking the bank.

Event Details

• Focus: Each monthly race is geared to give you, the runner, a chance to test your abilities, concentrate on your technique, and converse with other people in the running community without feeling overwhelmed with crowds, vendors, award ceremonies, etc.
• Size: We keep it small while still providing you with an official chip-timed 5K event!
• Competition: The $5K Race Series is one 5K per month (always the 2nd Tue) from April - October.
• Awards: Runners are awarded points based on finishing times and awards are given at the October race.

Cost & Registration

• Entry Fee: $5.00.
• Discount: No TCTC discount. No refunds, transfers, or deferrals allowed for this race.
• Cancellation Policy: In the event the race should be cancelled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Directors (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions: local, state, or national emergency: etc.), the race directors will do their best to reschedule the affected race(s) for the following Tuesday.
• Participants: Registration for this race is limited to 150 participants, after which a wait list goes into effect.

Participant Guidelines

• No Pets Allowed: Participants will not be issued a bib and/or DQ'd!
• Headphones Discouraged: Talk to your fellow runners! Most of them are actually nice!
• Strollers Allowed: But please start in the back of the pack! It’s chip-timed...so you can pass on the greenway!
• Race Day: Race Day registration is available only through participant devices. No registration kiosks will be available at the race.
