🎽 Race Details

TVC5K “Run the Runway” is a 5K run/walk for charity held on the actual closed down north south runway of Cherry Capital Airport.

• Unique Experience: Run right down the middle of where the planes land and take off.
• Purpose: Raise awareness of Wings of Mercy in Northern Michigan.
• Impact: Volunteer pilots have donated over 8,000 flights since 1991.
• Goals: Make an even bigger impact in Northern Michigan.

🌟 Participation and Growth

The 2024 TVC5K sold out with 400 runners. We were able to raise over 24,000 dollars.

• Upscaling: We are opening the gates to 700 runners this year.
• Access: Up close and personal with airplanes and helicopters.
• Education: Opportunities to chat with aviation professionals.
• Engagement: Exhibits from Women in Aviation and Civil Air Patrol.

🚁 Aviation Attractions

Participants will have access to various aircraft and safety vehicles.

• Featured Aircraft: North Flight AeroMed helicopter, Cessna 172, and floatplane.
• Rescue Vehicles: Fire trucks and rescue vehicles present at the event.
• US Coast Guard: UH60 Jayhawk helicopter will be on the ramp for viewing.
• Inspiration: We hope to spark interest in aviation careers for young people.
