Summit Metro Parks Mother's Day 5K

🏃‍♀️ Celebrate Mom with a 5K Run

Run, jog or walk to celebrate mom during this annual 5K from the Summit Metro Parks. The stroller-friendly course for this chip-timed race travels twice around the scenic Munroe Falls Lake. Race proceeds benefit the Summit Metro Parks Foundation.

🚪 Course Access Information

• Entrance Gate Closure: The park’s entrance gate will close at 7:50 a.m.
• Reopening: The gate will be re-opened by park rangers after participants clear the second lap.

👕 Registration Perks

• T-Shirt or Tree Sapling: A choice of a race t-shirt or native tree sapling is included with each paid registration, while supplies last.
• Kids’ Category: This includes the 14 & under category.
• Early Registration: Register early to ensure availability.

☔ Event Details

• Weather Policy: The event is held rain or shine.
• Refunds: Refunds are available through May 1, 2025, but not after.
• ADA Compliance: The course is not fully ADA-compliant, but wheelchair participants and jogging strollers are welcome.
• Course Surface: The course surface is asphalt.

📦 Packet Pickup

• Pre-Race Pickup: Available on Saturday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm (1828 Smith Rd., Akron).
• Race Day Pickup: Starts at 7 a.m. the morning of the race.

💰 Registration and Fees

• Kids Registration: For ages 14 and under, registration is $10 through race day.
• Age 15 and Older: Registration is tiered by date:
• Registration Fees: $20/person through January 14: $25/person from January 15 through March 14: $30/person from March 15 through April 14: $35/person from April 15 through race day.
• Last Minute Registration: Participants may register on the morning of the race online (no cash accepted).

📏 Race Rules

• Prohibited Items: Wagons, bikes, scooters, rollerblades, and motorized vehicles are not permitted on the course.
• Pet Policy: Pet spectators (on leashes, 8-foot max) are welcome, but not allowed on the course.
• Registration Requirement: Anyone on the course over the age of 5 years must be a registered participant with a race bib.

🏆 Awards

• Top Finishers: The top male and female (1st and 2nd place finishers) for each age group are awarded their name engraved in the Munroe Falls Mother’s Day 5K brick paver walkway.
• Overall Awards: The overall top male and female (1st and 2nd place finishers) are awarded their name engraved and an engraved top finisher brick paver to take home.
• Age Groups: 14 & under, 15-19 years, 20-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years, 70+ years.
