🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Stasny Road Racing is resurrecting an event from Ashtabula County past! We are happy to announce the Stasny Road Racing 5K Prediction Race!

⏱️ Race Format

• Estimated Finishing Time: During the registration process, you will enter an estimated finish time. This will be your official guess!
• Goal: Your goal is to run a 5K and finish with a time (+/-) of your official estimated finishing time without any timing aids.
• Awards: Awards to the top 5 runners closest to their official estimated finishing time.

📜 Official Event Rules

• No Timing Aids: Watches, GPS, stopwatches, phones, music or headphones/earbuds, measuring wheels, sundials, etc. are prohibited.
• Disqualification: Participants using a timing device will be disqualified and ineligible for awards.
• Timing: Your official time starts when you cross the starting line and finishes when you cross the finish line.
• Scoring: Chip time will be used to score the event: the tie breaker will be higher overall position.

🕒 Time Keeping

• Format: You will enter your predicted estimated finishing time in the format of H:MM:SS.
• Scoring System: Times will be scored at the full second using Chronotrack Systems scoring.
• Results Display: Results on Athlinks and on-site results TVs are not official: only Chronotrack times are official.
• Calculation: The difference between your estimated finishing time and your actual Chronotrack finishing time will be calculated and sorted via spreadsheet.

🔍 Time Examples

• Chronotrack Times: All official times will appear as H:MM:SS.TT without rounding the tenths of seconds.
• Posted Times: The official time will be the posted whole second on Chronotrack.
• Consistency: This scoring method will consistently apply regardless of fractional seconds.
• Tie Breaker: The higher overall position will break any ties.

💰 Event Fee

• Early Registration: $15 until December 31st, 2024
• Pre-Race Registration: $20 until April 26th, 2025
• Race Day Registration: $25 on Race Day
