Run For the Rec 5k

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

For the 12th year, McKnight Village is proud to host Run for the Rec, a 5k race through our neighborhood to support the upkeep and revitalization of our community-owned park!

📍 Race Details

• Date & Time: The race starts at 9am on Sunday, June 2nd.
• Location: McKnight Village Rec, located at the end of Henderson Road.

🚗 Parking Information

• Availability: Free in the rec.
• Arrival Time: Please arrive between 8 - 8:30am on race day.
• Instructions: Follow parking volunteers' instructions for parking.

📅 Race Packet Pickup

• Dates: Friday 5/31 (5-7pm) or Saturday 6/1 (10am-noon).
• Race Day Pickup: You can pick it up the morning of the event.
• Recommendation: We strongly encourage you to pick-up on Friday or Saturday.

🏅 Participation Categories

• Medals: 56 medals will be awarded across a variety of age groups and categories.
• Welcoming: Strollers and families are welcome.
• Division Options: 5k timed division, an untimed walk, and a timed rucking division.
• Rucking Categories: People weighing < 150lbs carrying 20lbs or more, and people weighing > 150lbs carrying 30lbs or more.

🎉 Post-Race Activities

Stick around after the race for raffles, refreshments, live music and - in celebration of the summer Olympic games this year - games for the kids!
