🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Get your July 4th holiday moving with the Rotary Club of Westerville’s Independence Day 5K at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 4. As it has since 2021, the 5K will take place at the Westerville Sports Complex, 325 N. Cleveland Ave.

🎖️ Beneficiary Information

Race progress will benefit local veterans' organizations. An Honor Guard presentation will start the event at 7:30 a.m.

👧 Kids Fun Run Details

Our traditional Kids Fun Run sprints will take place at 7:45 a.m. -- a change to BEFORE the 5K from past years.

🏞️ Race Course

• Path: The race course travels on paved multipurpose trails through the Sports Complex property.
• Route: Under Cleveland Avenue, along the Westerville Community Center property, down to Heritage Park, and back to the finish/start line at the Sports Complex, adjacent to the new Veterans Memorial Plaza.
• Goodies: Participants in the 5K receive an event T-shirt, race medal and other goodies.
• Kids Medals: Kids Fun Run participants receive a medal.

📅 Packet Pickup

Packet pickup will be from noon-6 p.m. the two days prior to the race, July 2 and July 3, at the Polaris Fleet Feet store, 1270 E. Powell Rd.

🎉 Independence Day Festivities

The race at the Sports Complex begins our day-long celebration of the Fourth, with our other dawn-to-dusk events, including:

• Parade: The big State Street Parade (10:30 a.m.)
• Concert: Free Concert and Food Truck Festival (5-10 p.m.)
• Fireworks: Patriotic Fireworks Display (10 p.m.)
