Maple Syrup 5k Run/Walk

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Join us for the 13th annual Vermontville Maple Syrup 5k Run/Walk.

• Organizers: The Maple Valley HS Cross Country team and the Class of 2026.
• Formats: Both an in-person and virtual race option.
• Celebration: 13th year running in conjunction with the town's 85th Vermontville Maple Syrup Festival!

🗓️ Race Details

The in-person race will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 8:00am. For those participating in the virtual race option, you may run it at any time.

• Date: April 26, 2025.
• Packet Pickup: Outside at the Maple Valley High School Administration Building.
• Pickup Times: April 25, 2025 from 6:00pm-7:00pm and April 26, 2025 from 6:30am-7:30am.
• Registration Cost: $30.00 if registering at packet pickup.

📍 Course Information

The race starts at the Maple Valley High School (11090 Nashville Hwy., Vermontville, MI 49096) and finishes in downtown Vermontville. It features mixed terrain.

• Course Type: One-way race, part pavement, part on the Paul Henry Thornapple Trail.
• Course Support: Volunteers will help at intersections.
• Transportation: Advisable to park at the finish line for transportation back to the high school.
• Gear Bags: Provided for all in-person runners and can be taken to the finish line.

🎁 Participant Perks

Participants in the race will receive various items based on their registration type.

• In-Person Participants: Receive a t-shirt, a special commemorative sticker, and a small syrup gift.
• Virtual Participants: Those registered by April 16, 2025 will receive a t-shirt and a special commemorative sticker.
• Shirt Guarantee: Register by April 16, 2025 to ensure a t-shirt.
• Shipping: Virtual participants' shirts and stickers will be shipped at the end of the event.

🏆 Awards

Awards will be presented to various age groups and overall winners.

• In-Person Awards: Age group awards for genders: 12 and under, 13-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and up.
• Overall Winners: Each will receive a gallon of maple syrup.
• Virtual Participant Awards: Based on the top 3 for gender, with proof of time/distance submitted by email.
• Medals: Will be mailed along with t-shirts and stickers for virtual participants.
