Keep the Parade Running 5K Run/1 Mile Fun Walk

🎉 About This Event

• Support Local Tradition: Come out and run or walk to support the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association 4th of July celebration! Our parade has been a community tradition for over 120 years.
• Participate: We need your help to keep our cherished parade and beautiful fireworks display a part of the Greater Glenside area for generations to come.
• Proceeds: All proceeds from your participation in "Keep the Parade Running" will ensure the continuation of this time honored Glenside 4th of July event.
• Course Details: Both the run and walk will start and finish at the North Penn VFW Post 676 of Glenside, located at 2519 Jenkintown Road, Glenside, PA. The run will take two loops through the scenic streets of Glenside. A few rolling hills throughout the course will provide just enough of a challenge to satisfy any level of runner.

👥 Team Registration

• Team Options: We will once again be offering team registrations.
• Composition: Teams may consist of any combination of runners/walkers, but must contain at least 5 members.

🏅 Awards

• Medals: Medals for the top 3 overall runners in each gender category.
• Age Group Awards: Age group award medals (top runner in each gender category) will also be presented.

🏃‍♂️ Qualify for 'Fastest on the Fourth' Race

• Qualification: The top 15 runners in each gender category will qualify for the 'Fastest on the Fourth' sprint race (approximately 1.4 miles), held immediately before the annual Glenside parade on July 4th, 2024.
• Parade Route: Runners that qualify will run the parade route, get cheered on by fans all along the race, and officially kick off the Grand, Glorious, Patriotic July 4th parade!

🎶 Amenities

• Early Registration: Those who register early enough receive a “Keep the Parade Running” t-shirt.
• Entertainment: There will be live music during the race and refreshments for finishers.
• Facilities: Indoor toilet facilities, ample parking, time clock at finish, and instant results (provided by Bryn Mawr Racing Co.) and awards presented following the run.
• Event Note: Awards will not be mailed. This event will be held rain or shine. No refunds.
